King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the annual Princess Girona Foundation meeting at the Royal Palace of El Pardo in Madrid. They were joined by their daughters Princess of Asturias, Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
The main objective of the Foundation is to work for young people in all those critical aspects for their future. The FPdGi is a private foundation, established by civil society in Girona in 2009, promoted by about 90 top-level trustees. Princess Leonor is the Honorary President of the Foundation but usually represented by her Father at the events of the Foundation.
A hybrid event that had both in-person and online participants were attended by 60 Foundation members. Addressing the gathering in Catalan, The Heiress to the Spanish Throne, HRH Princess Leonor, as honorary president of the Foundation, said, to say: “I hope that soon we can deliver our awards as we all would like. Our Foundation will continue to be the great benchmark for supporting young talent in our country ”. “I would like to thank all the patrons and those of you who work at the Foundation for your commitment and committed support. The Princess of Girona Foundation focuses its action on three main areas of action: detection of talented referents who serve as contemporary models for other young people (FPdGi Awards), promotion of programs to improve employability (“Talent Rescuers”) and the promotion of educational transformation, through the training of young teachers. The Foundation has a headquarters in the center of Girona located on Juli Garreta street.
Coming to the style of the day – Queen Letizia wore a red knit sweater and paired it with her red Carolina Herrera skirt that she first wore in November 2019 during Seville visit.
