The FPdGi is a private foundation, established by civil society in Girona in 2009, promoted by about 90 top-level trustees. Princess Leonor is the Honorary President of the Foundation but usually represented by her Father at the events of the Foundation.

A hybrid event that had both in-person and online participants were attended by 60 Foundation members. The Princess of Girona Foundation focuses its action on three main areas of action: detection of talented referents who serve as contemporary models for other young people (FPdGi Awards), promotion of programs to improve employability (“Talent Rescuers”) and the promotion of educational transformation, through the training of young teachers. The Foundation has a headquarters in the center of Girona located on Juli Garreta street.
