Earlier today, The Duke and Duchess first visited a school, met with the Healthline workers, and enjoyed a musical event junkanoo on East Bay Street. Then they participated in a Sailing Regatta.
The reception is being attended by community leaders and local heroes.
The Duchess of Cambridge talking to Miss Bahamas World 2021 winner, Sienna Evans, represented the country at the 70th Miss World pageant last week in Puerto Rico.
„I know as well that my grandfather, Duke of Edinburgh, had a soft spot for The Bahamas. Catherine and I were thinking about him today as we celebrated the return of sloop sailing here by racing off Montagu Beach. He would have been in his element!”

once again the Duke of Cambridge gave a speech that will be written down in the history of the Caribbean, “Next Year, I know you are all looking forward to celebrating fifty years of independence – Your Golden anniversary, And with Jamaica celebrating 60 years of Independence this year, and Belize celebrating 40 years of Independence last year, I want to say this – We support with pride, and respect your decision about your future. Relationship Evolve. Friendship Endure!”
Remembring his Grandfather, Prince Philip, William said, “I know as well that my grandfather, The Duke of Edinburgh, had a soft spot for The Bahamas. Catherine and I were thinking about him today as we celebrated the return of sloop sailing here by racing off Montagu Beach. He would have been in his element!“
“We want to invite those in the outer area if you can assist us tonight … 😁”

A fun moment before the speech. During the reception, The Duke of Cambridge presented Platinum Jubilee medals to some heads of the emergency services.
Prince William has essentially just invited the people of The Bahamas to use 50 years of independence next year to ditch the monarchy and elect a president if they want.
