King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the town of Pinofranqueado in “Las Hurdes” to commemorate the centenary of the trip of H.M. King Alfonso XIII to the region of Cáceres.
His Majesty King Alfonso XIII toured a good number of municipalities and farmhouses between June 20 and 24, 1922, accompanied by authorities and relevant names of the time, such as Dr. Gregorio Marañón. That expedition had a wide echo in the national press of the time and triggered a series of improvements aimed at improving health care and infrastructure in the region.
It was the sixth time that a representative of the Spanish monarchy has passed through Las Hurdes, since, the first royal trip of Alfonso XIII in 1922, who again visited the region in 1930. In 1998 Their Majesties King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía visited the region of Cáceres, having already visited it in 1971 when Don Juan Carlos was a prince. And in 1980 Don Juan de Borbón was in the area.
The Royal couple received a very warm welcome from the locals in the town.
For the day, Queen Letizia kept her look stylish and summer chic.
Letizia was wearing her green Carolina Herrera blouse that she first wore in Barcelona in 2011. We last saw the blouse in 2017 at the summer Courses 2017 opening.
Today, Letizia paired the top with her Sweet Matitos Girosal Skirt that she first wore in May 2018 during the cooperation visit to Haiti.
The Queen teamed up the outfit with a new pair of Macarena espadrilles.
She once again chose her bamboo gold hoops
And her Karen Hallam ring.
Yesterday, Queen Letizia marked the Red Cross and Red crescent day.
