Queen Letizia presided over the 2nd edition of the “Retina ECO Awards”, organized by PRISA Media in collaboration with the consulting firm Capgemini in Madrid. The awards recognize the best projects of 2021 in the field of wrestling against climate change and sustainability using technology.
Letizia presented the “Retina ECO Award” to the five best projects executed in 2021 with an impact on the fight against climate change and that, in addition, promote corporate innovation in the field of sustainability. The winners have been selected from more than 100 applications and were announced on June 9.
After greetings from the authorities, Doña Letizia went to the auditorium and took her place in the row of honor. The act began with the projection of a video presentation of the Awards, after which the master of ceremonies welcomed and gave way to the interventions of the CEO of CapGemini and the director of Retina, who presented the five categories of the Awards and announced the winners of each of them.
On this occasion, Green & Digital Hydrogen Mallorca, co-led by Acciona Energía, Enagás, IDAE, and Cemex, received the award in the Green Generation category. The Mahou San Miguel-Verallia energy efficiency project won the Efficient Consumption award. Endesa’s solar apiary, a pioneering beekeeping project that contributes to the sustainable development of the local community, has won in the Sustainable Ecosystem category.
Before leaving Letizia stood for a group photograph.
