King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived at the Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda for 2 days long official visit. The Royal couple departed from the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport in Madrid after the military send-off ceremony this afternoon. This is Felipe and Letizia’s first official joint overseas visit of the year 2023. This visit also marks Felipe and Letizia’s first official visit to a country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Upon arrival, King Felipe and Queen Letizia received the Spanish Ambassador to Angola at the Airport, Manuel Lejarreta.
Tonight, the couple will rest and the official agenda will begin tomorrow morning with a visit to the Agostinho Neto Memorial. Located in the capital, Luanda, a tribute to former President António Agostinho Neto, whose remains rest inside this monument. Then King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be officially welcomed to the country by President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and First Lady, Ana Afonso Dias. The day will continue with a visit to Banco Económico and end with a reception for the Spanish Community in Angola.
On Wednesday, King Felipe and President Lourenço will attend the Angola-Spain business meeting while Queen Letizia will join the First Lady for a visit to Lucrecia Paím Maternity Hospital. The next stop would be the Angolan National Assembly for the Royal couple. Then King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will bid farewell to their hosts at the President’s house and head home.
Letizia has the same blouse in navy blue also that she debuted in February 2021 during the Cooperation scholarship presentations.
