The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, are a love match that is well-known for their friendly sporting rivalry. In 2022, that sporting rivalry became official when The Princess of Wales became the patron of the Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union in February 2022.
The RFL and RFU are the national governing bodies that develop and promote the sport in the country. William, The Prince of Wales is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union since December 2016. And today The Prince and Princess of Wales cheered on from the stands at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff for their respective teams when England and Wales went head-to-head in the third round of the 2023 Six Nations Championship.
Last year too, William and Catherine attended the Six Nations Rugby match between England and Wales at the Twickenham stadium and brought Prince George with them. Today was the 139th time England and Wales have faced each other in the third round of the championship.

Ahead of the match, the Prince and Princess of Wales met injured players who are supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, of which Prince William is a Patron. The Royal couple also officially opened the Sir Tasker Watkins Suite – a new space at the Stadium which is dedicated for use by the injured players and their families ahead of matches.

For the day, The Princess of Wales brought back an old piece from her wardrobe – a red and white houndstooth Catherine Walker coat featuring large red buttons that she first wore on Day 2 in Sweden. in 2018.
Catherine paired the coat with a turtleneck dress that due to the lack of clear pictures is hard to identify. I will update the post once we have more pictures and information.

The Princess of Wales was wearing Mappin & Webb Empress Earrings.

Catherine was carrying her Mulberry Small Amberley Crossbody White Small Classic Grain bag debuted in July 2021 during the fifth day of Wimbledon.

It looks like The Princess of Wales was wearing her Aquatalia Rouge Boots in black. Shown here in brown. Catherine was also carrying a pair of gloves that could be her Fownes Brothers Black Leather Gloves.
Ahead of #StDavidsDay next week, The #Prince and #PrincessofWales will be back in Wales to champion mental health initiatives and meet local communities.
