The lack of public engagement is due to the General elections in Spain. During this period, The Spanish Royal Family usually keeps an extremely low profile as required being a Constitutional Monarchy.

Beginning her speech in Ukrainian as a symbol of solidarity with the war-torn country, Queen Letizia said, “The long history of a movement that has evolved together with those who it serves, supports, helps and protects. Any person in a situation of vulnerability, illness, violence, inequality, risk of exclusion, need, discrimination, or loneliness has an answer at the Red Cross, a friendly voice and an outstretched hand… And that is why today we present the medals that reward five organizations that share these values and that, as we have just seen, reflect the excellence of those who are guided by responsibility, commitment and the desire for more justice“.
