King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain made their first joint appearance of the week at the first edition of La Vanguardia Awards at the National Museum of Art of Catalonia in Barcelona. The awards recognize the work of entities, institutions, companies and people who carry out their activity in the social fields, economic, political or cultural.

Looking gorgeous in black Dries Van Noten dress, Queen Letizia earlier in the day joined her husband to welcome the the Spanish artistic swimming and water polo teams (women’s and men’s) that competed in the Swimming World Cup Fukuoka 2023 at the Albéniz Palace.
“It is a pleasure for the Queen and for me to be back in Barcelona and to preside over and share with everyone present an event like this in which, in addition to handing out well-deserved awards for excellence, it is celebrated another anniversary of La Vanguardia, a newspaper that has traveled over the course of three centuries, with enormous vocation, perseverance and conviction, reporting on everything that was happening in the world.“

The awards, created by the Godó Group, coincided with the newspaper’s recent 140th anniversary. As of 2023, the group will present the awards every year. The winners will be chosen by a jury made up of prominent personalities and members of the La Vanguardia editorial team.
The awards are presented in 8 different categories that inlcuded: Vanguardia “Businesswoman of the Year” award, Vanguardia Award “Entrepreneur of the Year”, Vanguard Award “Innovation”, Vanguardia Award “Young International Talent”, Vanguard Award “Culture”, Vanguardia Award “Impulse Cities”, Special “In Memoriam” award to Josep Piqué, and Special Mention “In Memoriam” to Juan Antonio Samaranch.

Heading towards Queen Letizia of Spain’s style of the day – Letizia was looking stunning in a simple black outfit.
Letizia wore Dries Van Noten Floral-Print Sleeveless Woven Dress that featured golden shade floral print on it.
Matching the shade of the bag and dress’ floral print were Carolina Herrera Gold plated earrings featuring jasmine flowers detailed with a crystal bead.
The Queen paired the outfit with Carolina Herrera Bimba 1 Clutch. Handcrafted in Palmera leather, evenly grained and luminous, featuring the quilted Soufflé with Carolina’s 2020 initials the bag is finished with a detachable chain strap.
The Queen was wearing black Carolina Herrera Good Girl 100 Pumps.
Letizia’s Corterno ring was not missing either.
