The Spanish Royal Family had a busy weekend. After attending the Princess of Asturias Awards last night and various related events before the awards, the Royals headed to the Parish of Arroes, Pion and Candanal in Villaviciosa to present the Prize for the Exemplary Town of Asturias 2023. These towns were recognized for having managed to preserve a diversified economy from local resources and which, at the same time, has allowed a recovery of the social base in recent years thanks to the growth and rejuvenation of its population.
King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia toured all the three small villages that are nestled in the natural beauty of Asturias and are known for Apple production. The Royal Family walked around the streets of the villages where the locals had set up stalls to show case the local products.
During the tour Queen Letizia was presented with a pair of earrings featuring a bitten apple and Cider bottle. Letizia immediately removed her Gold & Roses earrings and wore the gifted earrings.
