Denmark has a new King and Queen – Frederik X and Mary. The 83-years old, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark abdicated the throne in her son’s favour after 52 years of reign. The new King shares the accession day with his mother. Historically Denmark has only two names for Kings – Frederik and Christian. The break was Queen Margrethe. Frederik’s son Prince Christian is now the heir to the throne.
