Upon arrival, the Duchess was welcomed warmly by the pupils of the school. The kids were singing Nina Simone’s classic “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free.” Duchess was very happy and impressed with the singing.
Before the engagement Kensington Palace remarked, “The Duchess of Cambridge has been a patron of Place2Be since 2013, reflecting her interest in children’s mental health and the importance of supporting children and families to give children the best possible start in life.”

The Duchess heard how the school is committed to working with parents, as they believe communication between home and school is vital.
She saw the early year’s provision in the nursery and met parents who have benefited from the school’s parenting support.

Catherine was in full mother mode around the children and enjoyed the visit thoroughly with the kids.

The Duchess of Cambridge, a History of Art graduate, took part in art and craft activities with children.
Royal Family channel on Youtube shared a cute video of Duchess having a conversation with a kid about dinosaurs.
There was a brief discussion session with the staff of Place2Be.
A pet-lover herself, Duchess was happy to make a new friend in the form of a four-month-old puppy Bear who is training to be a therapy dog.
The School Farm is home to chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs where Catherine spent some time and also watched kids planting trees.
In the Sixth Form Communal Area, students talked to The Duchess about the support they have received at Reach Feltham.
Working with Place2Be and other organizations, Reach Feltham provides a range of support for students, parents, and staff members throughout their time at the school, including emotional wellbeing, LGBT groups, and a Girls’ Group.
Duchess raised a very serious question of the time and asked students, “Do you feel that social media puts a lot of pressure on young people?” After hearing students’ stories Duchess remarked, “From what we’ve been learning from the work we’ve been doing it can get so addictive.”
Before leaving school pupils wished The Duchess a happy birthday with a beautiful lovely hand-made birthday card.

Described as, “Taking inspiration from the traditional riding coat, the Gianna is a modern classic. Made in beautiful French navy wool, it is beautifully tailored and has dramatic femininity achieved by the flared skirt and black detailing.
