On the eve of his departure, the President of Portugal Rebelo de Sousa offered a reception in honour of the Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia at his official residence during the state visit palace of El Pardo in Madrid.
The receptions were not grand as the gala dinner offered by the Spanish Royals but Queen Letizia turned the event into a stunning one using her excellent fashion sense.
Queen brought Carolina Herrera separates back for the evening that she premiered during dinner celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Spanish newspaper Expansión in February last year.
The ensemble belongs to the Carolina Herrera’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection. The set contains a black silk mikado cropped top with feather and bead appliqué on the elbow-length sleeves, and a matching pencil skirt with a feathered front.
Letizia paired the stunning outfit with Magrit patent leather platform pumps.
She was carrying her Nina Ricci ‘Arc’ clutch.
The dazzling effect of the look was the beautifully crafted pair of earrings gifted to Queen Letizia by the Portuguese President. The gold filigree earrings aptly named the ‘Queen Earrings’ are from the goldsmith house of Ourivesaria Freitas. They are crafted by skilled Portuguese goldsmiths in a traditional Minho folk design.
This was Letizia’s last appearance during a Portuguese state visit to Spain. Do share your thoughts on the outfit and Queen’s look.
