Queen Letizia started the Autumn with a busy week. Today, Letizia opened the 2019/2020 Vocational Training Course. Every year Queen visits an institute in Spain to open the vocational academic session. This year the annual event was held at the IES “Severo Ochoa” of the Alicante town of Elche.
Upon arrival at the centre, Letizia was received by the director of the IES “Severo Ochoa”, Elvira Quiles, the management team of the Center and by representatives of teachers, businessmen and students. The IES “Severo Ochoa” is a public centre under the Ministry of Education of the Generalitat Valenciana. Located in the municipality of Elche, in the northern zone, in the industrial estate of Carrús.
The institution started its first course during the 1991/1992 session, then called Institute of Vocational Training No. 3. The centre began its teaching activity in other centres of the town in the afternoon shift in the next two academic courses. Its facilities were inaugurated in 1994 and after starting the name change procedure it was called IES “Severo Ochoa”.
It is a small centre in extension with approximately 900 students of the three educational stages: the first and second cycle of Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Formative Cycles of Middle and Upper Grade, distributed in three scheduled classes morning, evening and night.
The visit began with a brief meeting with staff and students in which many other topics among “The teachings of Vocational Training and the relationship with companies”, “What is expected of Dual Vocational Training and what is in the workplace?”, and “Dual Vocational Training seen from the company” were discussed.
After the meeting, Queen Letizia toured the centre visiting the trade room where students from the middle-level training cycle of Commercial Activities Technician were preparing a showcase. Vocational Training offers more than 150 training cycles within 26 professional families, with theoretical and practical content appropriate to the various professional fields.
Next, the Queen visited the computer room, where the students of the medium-level training cycle of Technician in Microinformatics Systems and Networks were doing some practices of assembling computer equipment.

Letizia was received by a large number of eagerly awaiting public outside the institute.
We first saw the dress in April this year when Letizia arrived in Mozambique for her cooperation visit. The £640 denim Shirtdress from label’s Spring Summer 2019 collection features a flared skirt with shirt collar, short sleeves and concealed button fastening. It came with a detachable matching belt.
Letizia paired the dress with contrasting red shoes and bag. She was wearing CH Carolina Herrera Essential Slingback Red Suede Pumps that she has in beige, black and navy colours too.
Queen was carrying her Carolina Herrera ‘Maysa’ clutch.
Her rarely absent, Karen Hallem ring was finishing the look.
