King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain started the day 2 of Princess of Asturias Foundation awards events in Oviedo with her daughters by receiving audiences from the winners of various awards presented by the Asturias foundation.
The Princess of Asturias Foundation is a private non-profit institution with objectives to contribute to the exaltation and promotion of how many scientific, cultural and humanistic values are universal heritage and consolidate the links between the Principality of Asturias and the title they traditionally hold the heirs of the Crown of Spain.
The royal family first received an audience in the Convadonga Hall of the Reconquista Hotel from the winners of “End of Career 2018” from the University of Oviedo and “Medals of Asturias 2019”.
There is a total of 5 winners in these categories who will be receiving awards in the evening ceremony.
Felipe and Princess Leonore presented the winners with the Foundation badges.
Then the royal family was joined by Queen Sofia to receive an audience from the jury members of the Princess of Asturias Foundation, its board of members, various patron and the winner of Princess of Asturias Awards 2019.
The awards ceremony is considered one of the most important cultural events on the international agenda. Throughout its history, these awards have received different recognitions, such as the extraordinary declaration that UNESCO made in 2004 for its exceptional contribution to the cultural heritage of Humanity.
The high neck grey dress from label’ Autumn-winter 2019 ready-to-wear collection features long voluminous sleeves, a pussy-bow high-neckline and embroidery on the front of the bodice in red, mustard, white and black.
It seems Letizia was determined to give the event an iconic look so she brought back the diamond earrings that she wore on her wedding in May 2004. The earrings were a gift from Felipe’s parents King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.
Queen paired the dress with black Carolina Herrera Suede pumps.
