The Duchess of Cambridge received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday at the London Science Museum. Sharing the moment on Kensington Palace social Media, The Duchess said,
Yesterday I received my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at London’s Science Museum. I’m hugely grateful to everyone who is playing a part in the rollout – thank you for everything you are doing.
The Duchess received her first vaccination from National Health Service staff, rather than the palace’s medical household, at the Science Museum in South Kensington. It’s not clear which vaccine she got.

The Duke of Cambridge received his dose earlier this month at the same Museum. At that moment he said, “To all those working on the vaccine rollout – thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do.“

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with other Royal Family members have been championing the vaccination roll-out for a long time. They have visited many vaccination centres and thanked the NHS staff for their hard work.
Last year April, Prince William got infected with the COVID virus. But the Palace kept the news under the wrap as Prince Charles had the infection at the same time. Later on, it was revealed that he did not release the information as “he didn’t wish to cause alarm and there were important things going on and I didn’t want to worry anyone”.

I do hope William and Catherine sharing their experience will encourage others to get their jabs done too! In case you missed yesterday, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thanked the Scots for their hospitality with a very personal touch.
