Queen Letizia of Spain, today, opened the Academic year 2021/2022 at the publicly-owned Center for Early Childhood and Primary Education “Odón de Buen”, and at the Institute of Secondary Education “Gallicum”, in the Zaragoza town of Zuera.
The opening of the school year is an annual event of Letizia’s Royal calendar. Every year she visits a town to open the school year and tour the school facilities in September. A look at 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 visits.
Letizia began her day with a visit to CEIP Odón de Buen in the schoolyard. In the building, she visited various academic and non-curricular facilities i.e. psychomotor and multisensory stimulation rooms, libraries etc.
The Queen received a very warm welcome from the public outside the “Odón de Buen” school.
The CEIP Odón de Buen is a public Early Childhood and Primary Education Center, which currently teaches Early Childhood Education to infants and primary stage students up to the age of 5. Letizia met with the school staff and heard about the various teaching techniques school uses to enhance the practical, social and emotional intelligence of its students.
She spent time with little ones in the playground and classrooms.
The next stop was the IES Gallicum – a public Secondary Education Institute located in the Bajo Gállego region. The school offers ESO, Baccalaureate and Educational Cycles to the students of Zuera (CP “Odón de Buen”) and San Mateo de Gállego (CP “Galo Ponte”) and students from the town of Ontinar de Salz.
The Queen toured the various classrooms and sports facilities at the school. The staff and students were excited to meet and greet The Queen and Letizia did not disappoint them.
A brief meeting with the school staff was held at the IES Gallicum.
At both stops, Letizia unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the visit.

For the day, Queen Letizia chose a chic monochrome style.
Letizia was wearing a white Adolfo Dominguez short sleeve Cold Shoulder top that she debuted in April 2017 during a Canary Island visit.
The top features a mandarin style collar, front keyhole opening and slits on the shoulder.
Letizia teamed it up with her Hugo Boss High-Waist Wide-Leg Pants debuted in 2018 at the Easter Sunday Mass.
The new element of Queen Letizia Style was Castaner Carina Navy Wedges. Thanks to Nuria on Twitter for the id. The €120 wedges are made of cotton canvas and feature a jute sole with lace ribbon fastening. They are currently on sale for €108.
