King Felipe and Queen Letizia this morning held a meeting with the members of the Advisory Council of the Princess of Girona Foundation at the Mansion Albéniz. The Advisory Council of the Princess of Girona Foundation was headed by the members of the Foundation: the president, the secretary, and the CEO, Salvador Tasqué.
Today, in addition, some of the projects developed by young people during the Talent Tour were shown along with the other activities that were carried out during the first half of the year by the foundation.
Then, the Royal couple headed towards the gardens of the mansion where Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia participated in the workshop.
The last activity of the day before the award ceremony was the meeting with the winners of previous editions of the Princess of Girona Foundation awards of previous.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia along with the Princess of Asturias and of Girona and the Infanta Doña Sofía met with 35 winners of the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi), in previous editions.
For the first time, the juries of experts awarded all five awards of the foundation to women candidates. The winners of this edition, recognize the careers of the actress, playwright, and producer María Hervás (in the Arts category and Letters); the engineer Elisenda Bou-Balust (Company category); the physicist and researcher Eleonora Viezzer (Scientific Research); the psychologist and social entrepreneur Claudia Tecglen (Social category) and the conservationist Trang Nguyen (International Award).
Empathy, commitment, determination, hope, and courage are some of the qualities shared by the five 2022 awardees, values that align with those of the Foundation that promote equal opportunities, sustainability, and social impact. The Princess of Girona Foundation Awards, endowed with 20,000 euros and a sculpture designed exclusively by Juan Zamora (Arts and Letters Award 2017), have the objective of positioning an entire community of young people who want to lead their personal and professional development and generate a positive impact.
