The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended Commonwealth Games and the star of the day was Princess Charlotte when she joined her parents in Birmingham. Their appearance was one of the highly-anticipated engagements of the summer as the family is usually on summer break during this time of the year.

 

The senior members of the British Royal Family have been attending the Commonwealth Games since its beginning last week.  Prince Charles officially declared the games opened last Thursday- a task usually performed by The Queen.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are on school break. It’s being reported that the Cambridge family is moving to Windsor grounds this summer and kids would be joining a new school this fall.

Last month the couple brought Prince George to the Wimbledon finale.

 

Charlotte joined Dad William in wishing the Women’s Football team the best ahead of their historical Euro cup final this Sunday.

They were joined by the Earl and Countess of Wessex and their children Lady Louise and Viscount Severn, James at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, where they were watching the swimming heats.

Princess Charlotte was fully engrossed in the games and just like her mum did not hold back on her reactions during the sporting events. It was also Charlotte’s first official solo outing with her parents. Otherwise, she always joined her parents along with her brothers.

Today’s engagement took us back to the 2012 Olympic games and 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

After watching the swimming competition, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Princess Charlotte headed towards the SportsAid House where they met with the young athletes and learned about the Team England Futures – an initiative to better prepare athletes to deliver medal-winning performances as either Team England, Team GB or ParalympicsGB debutants at future Games, while also giving support staff a first-hand look at the opportunities they could be presented with, as well as challenges they may face at a multi-sport Games.

Team England Futures program is a partnership between SportsAid, Sport England, and Commonwealth Games England which will see around 1,000 talented young athletes and aspiring support staff given the opportunity to attend the Games and take a first-hand look behind-the-scenes.

The Duchess of Cambridge is the patron of Sportsaid since 2013. They joined JennyTschiesche – A bestselling author of nutrition books and James Wilson -A sleep Expert offering simple & effective advice for better sleep to talk about the important link between nutrition and restful sleep in helping athletes to maximize performance. They were also joined by Ama Agbeze –  an English netball player to talk about the Athlete Village and the range of food options.

The next stop of the day was the University of Birmingham Hockey and Squash Centre.

They also participated in a series of interactive workshops at SportsAid House and met powerlifters Tom Smith and Lottie McGuinnes.

The Duchess of Cambridge chose an all-white look for the day.
