Queen Letizia of Spain attended the working meeting of the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (FEDER) at its headquarters in Madrid today. Queen Letizia is the Honorary President of the foundation and has been participating in its meetings and official activities since taking over the role. It was 2023’s first working meeting of the foundation.
Queen Letizia is set to have a very busy week. On Sunday she travelled to Athens where she attended the Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece yesterday with her family and European royals. This week she has engagements until Thursday. Apart from the busy week, The Spanish Royal Calendar seems to shape up with busy domestic and overseas events like two state visits.
FEDER works towards promoting the rights of those who live with a rare disease and are seeking a diagnosis, generating strategies that contribute to improving their quality of life. Today’s meeting discussed the new structure model of the foundation with the challenges and commitment of the new management, as well as the 5 axes and the main milestones broken down in the calendar of activities and planning of the organization.
The members of the board pledged to work towards effective operation and strategy, strengthening and cohesion, social transformation, direct attention and sustainability.
After the meeting, Letizia met with the technical team of the foundation and learned how they have been fairing.
The annual meeting is one of Letizia’s staple events. apart from the other activities and meetings throughout the year, at the beginning of the year, Letizia met with the board to discuss the last year’s progress and the new year’s agenda.

Letizia was wearing her camel-shade Carolina Herrera Straight fit double-breasted coat in double-faced wool that she first wore in December 2022 during a Los Angeles visit.
Underneath the coat, Letizia was wearing a matching Hugo Boss merino wool sweater with gold-effect button trimming. The piece was part of an exclusive Lunar New Year capsule from BOSS and is currently available in red.
She teamed up the sweater with Carolina Herrera Glen Plaid Trousers. The trousers are part of the label’s old collection and Letizia wore the matching blazer in February 2021.
