Queen Letizia of Spain attended the Spanish Association Against Cancer working meeting at its Central headquarters in Madrid. Queen Letizia is the Permanent Honorary President of the Spanish Association Against Cancer and of the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer. This was the association’s first meeting of the year.
This year’s working meetings discussed the Association’s achievements achieved during 2022 and its next projects for 2023 brought together in the “Todos contra el Cáncer” initiative. Queen Letizia has been very active with the association and had been working with the association for a long time.
The “Todos Contra el Cáncer” initiative is a joint effort led by the Spanish Association Against Cancer, it has been declared an Event of Exceptional Public Interest (AEIP) until 2024 by the Government of Spain under the protection of the Ministries of Finance and Public Function and Health, together with research institutions and industry to address the fight against cancer through collaboration and cooperation. Including actions such as the promotion of early detection programs, education on healthy lifestyles, research funding and support for patients and their families. The objective is to reduce the incidence and mortality from cancer by adopting preventive measures and improving access to quality treatment.
The Spanish Association Against Cancer is the reference entity in the fight against cancer for 69 years, non-profit and dedicated to the fight against cancer in Spain, founded in 1953.
