King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain welcomed the President Mr. César Bernardo Arévalo de León and the First Lady, Mrs. Lucrecia Eugenia Peinado Villanueva of Guatemala at the Royal Palace of Madrid. Next week, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be heading to Windsor, UK, to attend the memorial service for the late King Constantine II of Greece. The Late King was Felipe’s Maternal Uncle.
The President and First Lady were on 2 days long State visit to Spain. After greetings and the group photo session , The royal Couple along with their guests welcomed the Government officials and dignitaries.
Then King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted a lunch for the President and First Lady and all the guests. While addressing the gathering during the lunch, the Spanish King said, “some of the ties that bind us together, Mr. President, you are well represented at this table. Allow me to give special recognition to the community of Spaniards that was established in Guatemala and which has contributed – also their descendants, to the progress of our countries.“
