King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the bicentenary of the National Police event at the Royal Palace of Madrid. The Royal couple was joined by the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and other members of the Government.
After the interpretation of the National Anthem, The King reviewed the troops. A celebratory parade was conducted by the Police. A special tribute was paid to the policemen who died on duty.
On January 13, the National Police celebrated 200 years of history. Under the motto, ‘engaged to you’. The Spanish Police was first established in 1824 as the General Police of the Kingdom, the historical antecedent of the police institution.
