Today, Queen Letizia of Spain was at the IESE Campus in Madrid to present the third edition of the International Friendship Award – the prestigious recognition from the Chinese Government to foreigners who have contributed in an extraordinary way to the economic and social development of the country.
It was the only engagement scheduled for Queen Letizia who just finished a visit to Japan and South Korea last week.
The International Friendship Award is an initiative to promote exchange and understanding between China and the world, founded by Professor Pedro Nueno, honorary president of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).
In 2009, the Government of the People’s Republic of China granted Professor Pedro Nueno the “Friendship Award”, the highest distinction of the Chinese Government to foreigners who have contributed in an extraordinary way to the economic and social development of the country. Every year the Chinese Government usually rewards 50 foreign experts in different areas, while in certain anniversaries up to 100 people are rewarded. In total, some 1249 foreign professionals from 67 countries have received the Friendship Award since 1991.
Upon her arrival, the event began in the auditorium with a presentation about the “China Europe International Business School “(CEIBS) promoter of the” International Friendship Award “.
Next, Letizia presented the awards to the winners. This year’s awards went to – Hong Tianzhu, Lidan Qi, Lilling Qi, Chen Xi, Iqbal Survé, Eric Ip and Ibukun Awasika.
After the awards, a small conference on “Global Economic Environment: the future of China and Africa” was hosted.
After this conference, Queen went to the BBVA classroom where she was greeted by the Spanish students of the “Master in Management” of the IESE School and held a meeting with the winners.
Now to What Letizia Wore – For the day, Queen kept her look minimal by bringing back many old elements from her wardrobe.
The only new element of her today’s look was a black full-sleeved blouse with vee-neckline. The label of the blouse is still unknown. Underneath the blouse, Letizia was wearing a black tank-top.
Queen paired the top with Massimo Dutti Midi Glen Patterns Wool Skirt that she first wore in January this year at the FITUR inauguration.
Letizia topped the outfit with a black skinny belt.

And carried her black Hugo Boss BOSS Bespoke T. Handle M handbag.

It has been a big month for the Spanish heiress Leonor the Princess of Asturias. Tomorrow Felipe and Letizia’s eldest Leonor is turning 14. Last year on her birthday, Leonor gave her first reading at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute in Madrid on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its constitution’s approval by the Congress of Deputies.
Earlier this month, Leonore attended the Princess of Asturias foundation awards for the first time in Asturias with her parents and sister. Next week, she will make her debut at the Princess Girona foundation awards.
