King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain welcomed the President of the Italian Republic, Mr Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, at the Royal Palace of Zarzuela in Madrid. President Mattarella is on a two days state visit to Spain.
The Royal couple welcomed the President and his daughter in the courtyard of the Royal Palace with a full military ceremony. President Mattarella landed in Madrid’s Barajas-Adolfo Suarez airport where they were welcomed by the Italian delegates.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem of both nations and then King Felipe accompanied the President for the inspection of the Guard of Honour while Queen Letizia accommodated Laura Mattarella.
The Guest of Honour was received with the shots of 21 cannons in the courtyard followed by an introduction to the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and the other official delegations.
Once the welcome ceremony concluded, both couples held a brief meeting inside the Palace and offered a private luncheon to the Italian guests at the Royal Palace.
A video of the day.
For the morning, Queen Letizia was looking elegant in a grey tweed dress that we first saw in January 2017 at the National Sports Award.
The mid-length tweed dress still remains unidentified and one of my favourite days looks from Queen Letizia’s closet. The outfit features mixtures of grey, pink and green tones.
Letizia topped the outfit with a light pink Boss Capina cape that she first wore in October 2016 during Paris visit. The cape features an a-line shape with two gold buttons at the neckline.
She paired the outfit with a thin grey belt.
Letizia was wearing her grey Magrit leather pumps.
The new element of the outfit was Furla Metropolis Top Handle S Sabbia Bag. The $398 bag features textured leather and can also be used as a shoulder bag- thanks to its length-adjustable and removable shoulder strap.
Letizia paired the outfit with Chanel Plume earrings
And her Karen Hallam ring.
