Proud Queen Letizia Watched Spanish Women’s football team Making History

It was a historical moment when The Spanish Women’s Football team won the FIFA Women’s Football World Cup final against England’s Lionesses. And supporting the team from the front row was Queen Letizia of Spain with her younger daughter Infanta Sofia. After dropping Leonor at the Zaragoza Military Academy on Thursday, Queen Letizia left for Sydney Australia with her daughter accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Sports and Functions, Miquel Octavi Iceta.

In Australia, the Queen was received by the Spanish ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia, Alicia Moral, and by the Consul General of Spain in Sydney, Rebaca Chantal, and local authorities. The Spanish Royal Family has been supporting their national players on various platform for a long time.

Queen Letizia met with the women’s team in June before they left for the world cup and wished them good luck. At that time Letizia was presented with a team Jersey with number 12 on it that Letizia was holding today. Earlier this year, Infanta Sofia joined her father King Felipe at the Final of the Spanish Football Championship. While Felipe attended the French Open and Wimbledon to support the Spanish Tennis Ace Carlos Alvarez. King Felipe did not join his wife and daughter because on Monday the discussion on the next President of the Government will start and the flight from Spain to Australia is more than 20 hours.

Congraulating the team on social media, CasaReal posted, “Champions!! Champions!! World Champions!! You are the best soccer players in the world. This is FOOTBALL and it is HISTORY!” The nail biting match took place at the Australia Stadium where Spanish player was the only one to score a goal of the match leading the team to victory by 1-0.

Queen Letizia joined the authorities on the stage for the trophy presentation and hugged each player during the presentation.

Later on she joined the team for celebrations where the team chant “Leti, Leti, Leti”. Letizia is famously called Leti in Spain. The Queen was seen doing jumping jacks with the team during the celebration. The happy moments showed the other side of Queen’s personality who usually very sombre and serious during her public engagements.

Princess Sofia joined her mother and the nation in celebrations. She was seen wearing a team jersey and carried the Spanish Flag.

Queen Letizia paid tribute to her country and team in red outfit. Letizia was wearing red Hugo Boss Jaline Blazer and a matching trouser. The blazer is actually part of label’s men’s collection and was described as “inspired jacket is tailored to a boxy straight fit in Italian gabardine crafted in stretch virgin wool for a rich appearance with total ease of movement.”

Underneath the blazer Letizia was wearing black top.

She paired the outfit with her Gold & Roses I Am Red Needle Earrings that she debuted last year

and her Corterno ring.

Another new element  of the look was Carolina Herrera Doma Insignia Medium Satchel Bag. Part of label’s 35th anniversary collection, Doma Insignia Satchel bag is handcrafted in Mocán leather, with subtle and regular grain, and detailed with the raised Insignia Seal on its flap.

She was wearing her LT Elastic Black Boots.
