Queen Letizia of Spain attended the annual Student Resident Board Meeting in Madrid. Queen Letizia is the Honorary President of the Board. The Resident Board is one of the original centers on the Spanish cultural scene. The student residence board meeting is one of Letizia’s staple events of the summer.
The Residence Board organizes numerous public events, in which many of the protagonists of the latest arts and sciences take part. Conferences, round tables, concerts, poetry readings, meetings, or exhibitions make the Residence an open space for debate, critical reflection, and creation around the trends of our time. It develops different research projects following two main lines: the study and dissemination of its historical legacy and the analysis of current trends of thought with the aim of exploring the future of culture.
Upon arrival, The Queen was received by President of the Board of Trustees of the Student Residence Foundation. During the meeting, The Queen reviewed the 2023 Projects and the board approved the 2024 projects. The main commitment of the Student Residence, which is the backbone of its project for 2024, is the digital transformation in which it has embarked in recent years, with main objectives to culminate and allow the experience of access to its contents and services to be placed in the environment digital on a par with what your visitors experience in the “physical” world.
Earlier in the day, Queen Letizia met with the women’s team of the Soccer City of Las Rozas. The team was heading for participating in n the “FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023”.
Letizia was received by the upon arrival at the Las Rozas Soccer City by the president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Víctor Francos, and by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales.
The Queen observed a practice session from the stands and then she headed to the field to meet with the players.
The team presented the Queen with a team t-shirt with number 12.
