Catherine, The Princess of Wales, visited Streets of Growth. This was Catherine’s second engagement of the week. Yesterday she visited the Royal Naval Air Station in Yeovilton in Somerset. ‘Streets of Growth’ is a not-for-profit youth intervention charity in east London which is working to transform the lives of young people at risk of becoming trapped in a cycle of isolation, exploitation, violence and criminality.

Streets of Growth specializes in targeted outreach and intervention to re-engage young people aged 15- 25, taking an approach that balances organization-led and community- led engagement. Over the past two decades it has transformed the lives of over 5000 young people. The organization was established in 2001 by Diane Peters, inspired by a research visit to see the work of Roca in Boston. If you remember The Prince and Princess of Wales visited their Earthshot Prizes visit in December 2022.
“During her visit, The Princess will meet front line staff to hear about the approach that Streets of Growth takes to identify, support and coach young people at risk. Many of the organizations staff were once young clients who have transformed their own lives and are now supporting other young people to transf01m theirs. Her Royal Highness will then spend time with individuals who have been supported by Streets of Growth; hearing first hand about the impact the organization’ s work has had on their lives” – Kensington Palace
The Princess of Wales, Catherine, was joined by the representatives from the United States during her time at Streets of Growth to learn about the new space for Streets of Growth at their flagship student accommodation building in East London, helping to increase the capacity of the organization to work in this area.
“Young people get judged on their external behaviour but you have to understand their backstory. They haven’t probably seen trusting relationships in their lives so that’s so important. I love the fact you’re going out into communities, kids are so isolated, they’re at home with these huge struggles.”- Catherine, The Princess of Wales
Streets of Growth uses the same approach as Roca to tackle harm and create systems change using neuroscience and cognitive skills to better equip practitioners, young people and their families to break negative behavioural patterns and consequently play a central role in building thriving communities. Key to this is nurturing honest partnerships, including with police and youth offending teams, social services, schools and colleges, and housing associations in the approach.
Kate also met two sets of mothers and daughters who have been helped by the charity. She was shown some of the shoes and jewellery they made in creative workshops, which Kate described as “really beautiful” and “so creative. Doing these workshops has really helped,” one of the girls said. “I used to be so shy, I didn’t really talk.”
“What’s so fantastic is there’s an organisation in the community that works with a whole family in this way,” Kate said. “It’s tools and skills and being able to express yourself. All these things are what so many people like this and the country need. “It’s also meeting families and young people before they get to crisis point and there’s a huge amount of intervention that can be done.”
The Appropriate Intervention Bridging Model being applied at the organization looks at lifestyle, environment, education and careers. Front line staff engage vulnerable young people who have experienced harm and trauma through a tailored pathway of specialized intervention coaching, skills development, social action and work experience across a wide range of sectors.

Speaking with actor and patron of the charity, Eddie Marsam, she said: ‘The problem is that so many young people don’t have access to services like this, we need to scale it up, up and down the country. ‘It is possible it does make a difference.’
Founder of the charity Darren Way said Kate ‘makes you very relaxed’ and added that after her visit ‘the sky’s the limit’ in their mission to help more vulnerable young people.
The Princess of Wales participated in the Mental Health podcast during her visit. met with the young people who have been helped Streets of Growth and heard their stories. She also stood for few selfies with the young members. Since 2001, the organization has helped more than 5000 young people finding their lives back.
What Kate Middleton wore to visit Streets of Growth in London
- Roland Mouret Suit ( New – Thanks to UfoNoMore for the id)
- White UFO Top
- Kiki McDonough Classic Citrine Cushion & Diamond Earrings with gold hoops (Repeat – debuted 2013)
- Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 105 Bisque Pumps – (Repeat – Debuted March 2022)
Once again sticking to her newly found uniform, The Princess of Wales opted for another suit. I do not have any complains honestly other than that I miss dresses and coat dresses. I believe this new uniform is part of the new PR strategy where she is dressing as per the new role in the 21st century.
Catherine, The Princess of Wales was wearing a Camel shade Roland Mouret suit that featured single-breasted tailored blazer with a “Bell-bottom” style trousers. The outfit looks pretty similar to her burgundy Roland Mouret suit that she wore in 2022 During her Boston visit.
Once gain Kate brought back her Kiki McDonough Classic Citrine Cushion & Diamond Earrings with gold hoops. The shown above the gold diamond hoops, but yesterday and today, Kate wore the citrine drops with simple gold hoops.
Catherine was wearing Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 105 Bisque Pumps that we first saw in March 2022 during Caribbean tour.
