The Spanish Royal Court has released two new pictures of Princess Leonor, the Princess of Asturias and her younger sister Infanta Sofia. These two new pictures will be used on all future official communications from the Palace and Government. The last official pictures were released in February 2020.
Both pictures were taken on October 31st this year – the 18th birthday of Princess Leonor at the Royal Palace of Madrid after the lunch King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted for the Government official.
Another picture from the same day was released earlier this week as Christmas card of the Royal Family in which King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia posed with their daughters in the same gallery. Hence we did not receive any new official family picture to replace the old official family portrait.
The Palace also did not replace King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s official portraits. The same one released in 2020 will be continued to use as the Royal couple’s official portraits around the country.
The Spanish Royal Family will be concluding their official engagements for the year next week with the last engagement on 21st when King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be attending a special concert concluding Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid. The King and Queen and their both daughters will then retreat for a private Christmas and new year celebrations and we will see them in public in 2024.
