King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain were out toghether for an annual event – the opening of the the 43rd International Contemporary Art Fair-ARCOmadrid at IFEMA in the capital city. The Art Fair opening is one of the staple events in Royal calendar. The Art Fair is one of the main platforms of the art market, and an essential piece in the international circuit of promotion and dissemination of artistic creation.
In its 43rd edition the Art Fair is running from 6 to 10 March 2024 with the Caribbean Sea as a central project. A total of 207 galleries from 36 countries make Madrid the international capital of contemporary art and 172 galleries integrate the General Program and Latin American art, with 12 galleries.
The royal couple toured the the two pavilions that occupies the fair, where they stopped in the spaces of RTVE, ABC, El Mundo, Opening-Remota, Espacio Mínimo, Chantal Crousel, T20-Sonia Navarro, Sabrina Amrani, Never the same-lo-Instituto de Visión, Helga de Alvearar, FORTES, Filomena Soares, El Caribe and El País.
Among the international galleries that make up the General Program are new additions such as Gregor Podnar, Max Hetzler, Vera Munro, Air de Paris, Fortes D’aloia & Gabriel, Lévy Gorvy Dayan and León Tovar. These are among other regulars such as Thaddaeus Ropac, Mai 36, Jocelyn Wolff, Chantal Crousel, Peter Kilchman, Krinzinger, Nurt St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzw?lder, Giorgio Persano, Lelong, Meyer Riegger, Perrotin, Poggi, Neugerriemschneider, Carlier I Gebauer, Thomas Schulte and Dvir Gallery.
