King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived in Amsterdam, Netherlands for their 3 days long state visit. This is Felipe and Letizia’s first State visit to the Dutch land. The Royal couple is visiting the fellow Kingdom on the invitation of King Willem-Alexander. Upon arrival in Amsterdam, Felipe and Letizia were received by the Spanish Ambassador to the Netherlands. The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations since 1648, and historical links stretch back even further
The first engagement for the Royal couple was a reception hosted for the Spanish Community in Netherlands at the NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace Hotel. A reception for the Spanish Community is usually the first engagement during every State Visit Felipe and Letizia made to the foreign countries.
They met with the Spaniards who have left their home country to build a home in Netherlands. People from all walks of life joined the Royal couple. Tomorrow, Felipe and Letizia will be officially welcomed by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of Netherlands with a military ceremony.
