The Honorary President of Spanish UNICEF, Queen Letizia of Spain, today presided over the event marking “World Mental Health Day 2022” at the Impact Hub Piedmont in Madrid. Queen Letizia also holds the honorary presidency of the Ombudsman for the Mental Health of Children and Adolescents.
Upon arrival at the Hub, Queen Letizia was welcomed by the Minister of Health and the President of the Spanish Mental Health Confederation.
This year “World Mental Health Day” is being celebrated under the slogan of “Like a Mental health – For the right to grow in well-being” on October 10. The slogan was proposed by the World Federation for Mental Health and particularly targetting children, adolescence and youth. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
Last month, Queen Letizia of Spain visited New York where she attended a meeting with UNICEF Mental Health experts and met with youth leaders involved in Mental Health initiatives. Her Majesty The Queen also participated in a joint event organised by UNICEF, UNESCO and WHO during the week of the United Nations General Assembly 2022. During the Secretary-General’s Summit for the Transformation of Education an Urgent call to action to the world leaders has been made to promote and protect the Mental Health and psychosocial well-being of students in schools and learning environments.
Today’s event began with the performance of the song “Detrás de cada luz” by Nena Daconte.
Since joining the Spanish Royal Family, Letizia has actively supported the work of the organization working on the ground level to remove the stigma around Mental Health. Letizia was appointed UNICEF Ambassador for Mental Health in Children and Adolescents to highlight the problem of mental health in children and adolescents throughout the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in the world, one in seven young people between the ages of 10 and 19 suffers from a mental disorder.
Addressing the gathering at the World Mental Health Day, Queen Letizia said, “social vulnerability and poverty are also causes associated with the risk of suffering a mental disorder. In other words, the well-being or psychological discomfort of people of any age and of any condition is something that matters to us and that affects us… the boom of the global public conversation on mental health can be, must be the beginning of the collective response that societies in need of the ones we live Hopefully it will be like that. The specialists agree that the recipes are not unique or easy and that their approach involves a complex and multidisciplinary approach, with analysis and data disaggregated by gender, and that effective measures in all areas are combined in health, education (schools), family, social, and of course with a human rights perspective that encompasses a comprehensive model.“
Moving towards Queen Letizia Style – The 50-years old gorgeous Spanish Queen was wearing her Massimo Dutti Confetti Print Shirt Dress that we first saw during her South Korea visit in October 2019.
The $160 print shirt dress features an A-line fit, round neck, side zip fastening, and long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, asymmetric hem, and lining. Letizia again brought back the dress in January 2020 at the inauguration of The International Tourism Fair – FITUR.
Another look at the dress.
We last saw the dress in February 2021 during a Palace audience.
Once again Letizia paired the dress with her leather-suede pumps from Magrit that she debuted in November 2018 during a Peru visit
and a matching Magrit handbag.
Her Gold & Roses Shewel Triple Hoops that she debuted last month
with a Karen Hallam ring completed the look.
Tomorrow, Queen Letizia will attend an Inauguration ceremony of the elected academics Mrs Elena García Armada and Mrs Ana Conesa Cegarra at the Royal Academy of Engineering in Madrid.
