King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain concluded their three days long State visit to Netherlands with a special reception in the honour of their hosts, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, at the Straat Museum in Amsterdam. They were joined by the Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia have been visiting the Dutch land for three days and had a busy schedule conducting various engagements and activities.
The Museum has an exhibition of Contemporary Art Duo going on that added an artistic touch to the traditional reception that Felipe and Letizia usually host in the visiting country to thank their hosts. A pioneer in Europe, the exhibition brings together monumental works done by outstanding Dutch and Spanish urban artists under shared cultural themes.
It was organized by SUSO33 together with Santiago Herrero, curator “Curer” principal David Roos and director Guy Trigallez of the STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam. Both the Royal couples toured the museum and exhibitions before addressing the gathering and raising a toast to the strong bilateral relationship between both Kingdoms.
Apart from being constitutional monarchies, Spanish and Dutch Royal Families share very close family connections. Felipe and Willem had been close friends for almost three decades. Their daughters Pricness Leonor and Princess Alexia studied together at the Wales Atlantic School. Dutch Crown Princess Catherina-Amalia recently spent a year in Madrid and during her stay attended various private dinners and luncheons with the Spanish Royals to build the next generation relationships.
After the reception, Felipe and Letizia thanked their hosts for the warm welcome and stay before heading home.
