Queen Letizia of Spain attended the first working meeting of 2024 with the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) at the ERDF headquarters in Madrid. Queen Letizia is the honorary President of FEDER.
Upon her arrival at the headquarters of the Federation, Doña Letizia has been received by Juan Carrión, president of FEDER and Director General of Care for Persons with Disabilities of the Community of Madrid.
The meeting revolved around the present and future of the organisation, carrying out an analysis of the main impact holders of 2023, among which is “the intervention, for the first time, of ERDF to the UN or the Conferences on Rare Diseases held in Bilbao and Madrid in the wake of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
These are milestones on which the strategic action of the organisation this year pivots. 2024 year marks the 25th anniversary of ERDF which starts with the campaign “In rare diseases, is it better to prevent than cure?” The campaign will be launched on the occasion of World Rare Disease Day that is celebrated on 29 February.
